John Pitsch started as a driller’s assistant with MATECO and he was recently promoted to General Manager. And there are so many more!”Human Resource Supervisor Jessica VanTimmeren agrees.“There are always opportunities for advancement for the right individual,” she acknowledges. “We are constantly striving to improve our onboarding process to ensure we are giving new hires every opportunity to be successful.”According to VanZalen, the companies invest a lot in training our team and beyond that, they have the support of other team members and their supervisors, all the way up to the President.“Every project is unique and presents an opportunity for growth,” explains VanZalen. “And we have a recognition program where managers can immediately reward a team member with a gift card or send a note of thanks. In addition, we have service awards that are given to team members on their anniversaries.”One of our favorite sayings is: “Investments in people, technology, and equipment are worth it.”VanZalen states, “By investing we create more opportunities for our employees and the companies.”MTC and MATECO are proud of the fact that many team members have been with the two companies for more than 20 years, and some for more than 30 years!“Each department has at least one team member who has been with us for more than 15 years,” notes VanTimmeren. “I would attribute this to a work environment where we are constantly trying to do our best.
